Rajkot: 300 girl students created world record by making 300 periscope within 30 seconds.

Kadvibai Virani Kanya Vidyalay(KVKV) of Rajkot(Gujarat) organised
another unique programme. The school has earlier created world record by
making 25,000 Rotis in 8 minutes has now created another world record. 300
girl students created world record by making 300 periscopes within 30

Sonal Shah, principal of KVKV School said that students of class VI and IX
are studying principle of reflection of light in science and technology
subject. We got inspiration from the lesson to create periscope. 300
students of class IX made periscopes from 20 X 3 inch card board thick
papers. The creativity was made possible within only 30 seconds. KVKV is
six decade old grant-in-aid school of Rajkot.

Now the 300 students will use all the periscopes in government schools to
teach students of class IX about principles and uses of periscope. The
periscope will be given as gift for students of government schools. Thus
world record will be useful to students of government schools to learn
about periscope. The programme of teaching will be held on monthly basis.
They will provide counselling about education and career also. For the
purpose special training has been given to 300 students by principal
Sonalben Shah.

Board exams have been finished and students of most of schools are enjoying
their vacation. During this KVKV school has organised such unique
programme. In the record creation programme astrophysicist Dr Abhas Mitra
from Bhabha Atomic Research Centre was chief guest. Vice Chancellor of
Saurashtra University Dr Padalia, DEO J.K.Visia, Principal Dr. Nagani,
Rajkot chamber of commerce and industry president Samirbhai Shah, Dr
Bhayani from Odhavji Velji science centre were present. Mayor of Rajkot
Janakbhai Kotak also congratulated students. Sonalben said that actually we
want entry in guinnese book of world record, but our school could not bear
the expenditure of fee, so we decided to go for Limca book of record.
Ex-student of KVKV school from USA Jigyasa Lakkad, worker Sonal hirenbhai
Kotak, Devangbhai Mankad  helped the school to bear expenditure in creating
the world record.
